How Many People are There in The World?

The number is constantly increasing, as births outnumber deaths for the planet as a whole. Very early on March 1, 2009, there were 6,888,888,888 people in the world, according to the “Population Clock”. World population is expected to reach 7 billion sometime in April of 2010. (The US Census Bureau figures are lower by approximately 100 million, due to different estimation methods.)
The “Population Clock” estimates how many people are in the world now, and you also can browse back in time, by up to 30 years. You can also see estimates for the population in the future.
